The Trinity Foundation is a
public policy Think Tank that was initially known as the Intelligentsia
student’s Think Tank Makerere University by 2008. It was around and about 2014
that the name Intelligentsia metamorphosised into the Trinity Foundation.
The name Trinity was conjured on
the premise of the omnipotence of the divine Trinity in shaping and influencing
our earthly events.
Therefore, the undertakings of
the Trinity Foundation shall be wholly based on divine spiritual values.
The Trinity Foundation will be a
crucial platform that will enable the tackling of issues on a well researched
discourse rather than emotional considerations. Besides, Trinity foundation
will inevitably debunk catastrophic and morally reprehensible approaches to
policy formulation and implementation.
The Trinity Foundation will
enter the Think Tank market place and robustly address a wide array of public
policy issues at both the national and international level. Trinity Foundation
shall also be involved in challenging existing suppositions, develop original
ideas and put forth new opinions with a view to unveiling innovation, progress
and creative thinking in our society.
In a nutshell, the following are
the aims and objectives of the Trinity Foundation;
1)
To recrcuit a good mix of people to bring the
necessary breath of knowledge to solve
complex problems
2)
To stimulate healthy debate of complex issues by
being informative, bring out the substance behind political programmes,
evaluating the costs, benefits options and choices
3)
To undertake rigorous, analytical research with
practical policy oriented analysis. In so doing, we use our capabilities to
innovate and solve problems unique to our environment.
In a nutshell, the Trinity Foundation
shall be inspired by the wisdom of Abraham Lincoln which stated that, “The
probability that our struggle might be impossible to achieve, ought not deter
us from the greatness of the cause we cherish”. The trinity foundation shall at
all times be driven and fostered by the notion of “critical thinking in
enhancing policy agenda”
