a foreign country and so you should not risky your life. Night drives can only
be done in case you are being transferred to the airport. The most highways in
Uganda do not have street lights and thus, it is very easy to miss a lodge sign
post when you are driving. During a time, when you get some emergency in the
middle of nowhere at night, then getting assistance may be very difficult. As a

was because it is a cultural melting pot at the geographical heart of Africa
where the East African savannah meets the jungle of West Africa.
Renting a car within the
country will make you see the highlights at your leisure. Throughout the self drive, you should mark
the road signs. Uganda has got road signs on all the roads, thus when driving
your rented car, you are advised not to neglect them. Always drive at
stipulated driving speed. In Uganda,
over speeding is an offence and is highly penalized by police which in turn may
cause you to delay and might end up missing your next destination within the
specified time. The speed limit on the
major highways is 80-100 km per hour, 30-50 Km in major towns and trading
centers, 40-50 kms per hour in National parks, 40-60 km per hour on murram
roads. You should switch on the lights when you are driving on the dusty roads
more so when it is raining and remember, off track driving within the country
most especially within the national park is not allowed and will always be
penalized. You should plan your route around this attractive country and then
book very cheap car hire in Uganda. This country is very famous for the
endangered mountain gorillas, which tourists come from across the world to see.

east on the Kenyan border, or hippos and crocodiles cavorting in tropical
rivers while primates play in the equatorial rainforests. Uganda also boasts
thousands of species of animals and birds as well as half of Africa's forests,
hot springs and waterfalls. Most people do visit Uganda aiming to see the
gorillas while trekking through the mountains. They do so during the best time
to travel which is January and February as well as June to September. Usually,
