A true Uganda Gorilla safari

Uganda is renowned for her abundant wildlife, gorillas inclusive.  Her landscapes range from savannah to lush forests. She has got over 300 registered mammal species and more than 1,000 bird species. A true Ugandan safari is conducted in Bwindi and Mgahinga National park and these are the places where you can find the endangered mountain gorillas. Other primates of the sort are found in Kibale forest national park and these are the Chimpanzees. In Queen Elizabeth national park, we do find a number of hippos, elephants, buffalos and leopards not forgetting are the tree-climbing lions as well as a very huge variety of bird species.

What is required of you to have for a gorilla trekking expedition?

In order to experience a gorilla safari, you will have to obtain a visa to the country. The required fee to obtain the mountain gorilla is UD 50 and these notes should be noted clearly where by notes later than 2004 are the ones which are accepted. There are some recommendable vaccinations for your true gorilla expeditions. You should obtain a polio, Tetanus, Diphtheria, Typhoid and Hepatitis health certificate. In Uganda, Malaria prophylaxis is very essential and it is recommended that you seek advice for your travel health. Note also that Bilhazia is well known to occur in some of the lakes or rivers thus you are advised to take advice from your guide or lead locally before venturing for a swim.

A typical Uganda safari will make  you visit Endangered Mountain gorillas since the country is a home of half of the world’s remaining Mountain Gorillas that still live in the their natural habitat. A few wilderness experiences in Africa can compare with the thrill, and the privilege, of seeing the rare and endangered families of gorillas in the lush, misty forests of Uganda's Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, located in southwest Uganda. Deviating away from rich Savannas, there are very virgin mountains, from teeming rivers to steaming jungles; the country is a biological diversity. The country has a natural magnificence that cannot be compared.  A safari beginning with Murchison Falls will make you explore the source of the Nile, where 1,000 feet of water squeezes into a 23-foot gorge and explodes 130 feet down over the lip of the western Great Rift. Within Murchison Falls National Park, we do watch some of Africa's prime populations of game and a number of bird life. Moving away from Murchison falls is Kibale Forest National Park. This is home to several families of habituated chimpanzees. It is also one of the best places in Uganda to track chimps and other primates.  A way from , Kibale forest National park is one of  Uganda's remarkable wildlife sanctuaries, Queen Elizabeth National Park.  The park has got the superb big game, and   strategically lies in the shadow of the mountain of the Moon called Ruwenzori Mountains. This park was named by the mountain of the moon by the 2^nd century Egyptian explorer, Ptolemy. The view vast herds of the Africa elephants, buffalos, hippos, the antelopes. Safaris in Uganda are busy and active trips with some early starts. You need to wake up early in the morning to participate in these safaris.
