Before
you set off for the gorilla tracking expedition at your home, you will have to
pack the right clothes for the activity. The very fast thing which you need
to do in order to make your gorilla trekking experience a success in
Uganda looking for the right clothes to put on. Thus, the gorilla tracking
rules will start with packing the right
clothings for you to use during the gorilla tracking activities. You will be
required to you select the right clothing which will perfectly make you
comfortable on your Trek. Of course, you will need to obtain a gorilla tracking
permit well in advance and also book for your accommodation in advance to avoid
inconveniences
What type of cloth should I wear during gorilla trekking in Uganda or
Rwanda?
You are advised to pack long-sleeved shirt. Be
careful here, you should put on along sleeved shirt not a short sleeved shirt
for some reasons but most especially for your protection. A hat will come in
handy especially a wide-brimmed one, but a cap like a baseball one will do,
again for your protection. When you are the field, it might rain or drizzle so
this hat will help you from the rain drops. In case you do not want to put on a
cap, then carry an umbrella. This will
be of great value for you as far as protection is concerned.
What you need to pack during your gorilla expedition
Before you go for your Mountain gorilla
expedition, you should pack at least two liters inside and anything else such
as your lunch, some granola bars. Inside the day you can pack a poncho or light
rain jacket pack the right clothing for your trek and wear the proper clothing
for your protection. The activity usually spends a whole day thus going with
packed food, will be of your own benefit. This will prevent you from feeling
hungry while you are in the field, tracking the endangered mountain
gorillas of Bwindi Impenetrable forest.
What
happens on the day of Gorilla trekking?
On the
day of trekking, you will be required to wake up very early in the morning,
have breakfast then go to park headquarters. Here, you will be oriented and
given guidelines about gorilla trekking
activity. With your guide, you will then enter the jungle to search the
endangered mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable forest. This will be
according to the family which you were assigned to and this must be near your
accommodation facility. On this day, you will spend 5 hours in the jungle
trekking the giantic apes.
What is the age limit required for gorilla trekking?
In case you are below, 15 years of age, you are
not supposed to go for gorilla trekking in any of the countries that is either
Uganda or Rwanda. In addition to this, you will are supposed not to be having
any communicable diseases be it flu, TB of diarrhea. Of course, you not lie
your age since it will be indicated in your passport. It is much more wise
therefore to be 15 years and above to aspire for gorilla trekking in Uganda.
How can the burden of trekking be reduced?
For you to be in the position of trekking the
endangered mountain gorillas, you have to keep the beauty of your sorroundings.
Since you are the visitor, you might not be in position to know the rules on
how to maintain the surrounding. Because of this, you will be called upon to
hire a very expensive porter so that you can support a Ugandan or Rwandan
family through these porters. You will
be required to obtain a walking stick to steady yourself on the trek
since in most cases, the path can be steep. You can also come across places
where there is completely no path for you. This means that you will use this
stick to clear yourself a path
