A Ugandan Visa- A path to Gorilla Trekking

Before you travel to Uganda, you will need practical and helpful information which will advise you on how to obtain your tourist visa to Uganda. Of course to enter the country, you will require a visa into your passport. This will guarantee you entry in the country to do all your tourism activities you had already booked through a tour operator of your own..
If you are not a Ugandan, then you will require a visa to be allowed to enter the country. Basically, this Visa can be purchased at the Embassy of Uganda or Uganda high commission in your respective destiny. These countries include; Belgium, Canada, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russian Federation, South Africa, United Kingdom and the United States of America.
You will be required to apply for this Visa. This application can be done either in person or instruct someone through email. When you are applying in person, you will be required to have two passport photos. These will be accompanied with an application letter. This application can be downloaded from the Embassy website in your country of origin. In case you are making instructions via email, you will be required to send the real information concerning you.  After surrendering in these items, a visa will be availed to you within 24 hours. It can also be issued to you the same day in case you ask the embassy staff   nicely enough. Alternatively, you can obtain a visa upon arrival. Usually, this is a straight forward procedure that will take you a few minutes from Uganda’s International Airport – Entebbe International Airport. Upon arrival, you be required to queue/line up in order for you to obtain this visa. Uganda visa’s are prone to change therefore, we advise you to check on the current situation with their travel agent. A standard single entry which is valid for three months costs US $50. Student visa costs US $20. For multiple entry visa are only available at Uganda consulate abroad.  In case you wish to spend more than 7 days in Uganda, before you leave, you will need to purchase an inland transit visa for only US $15.
At the Uganda’s embassy at your country of origin, the immigration authorities will just stamp inside your passport for a maximum of only one month upon arrival. This stamp which is in your passport will be extended without charge to three months at any immigration office. When you arrive at Entebbe and you drive direct to Kampala, you will be asked to provide an official letter from the sponsor or the hotel where you will be staying.
Before you think of obtaining a Ugandan visa, you must have a valid passport which must be issued by your country of origin. You must be in position of International Health Certificate showing that you have had had yellow fever shot. The person issuing to you the Ugandan visa will require you to be have a return ticket to your country of origin. You ought to be having enough funds or having ways in which you can obtain your funds. In some rare situations, you will be asked if you have sufficient funds with you while you are in Uganda.
You can import into Uganda 400 cigarettes or 500 grams of tobacco; one bottle of spirit and wine and 2.5 liters of beer, 1 bottle of perfume. You can export from Uganda, Souvenirs such as tooth, bone, horn, shell, claw, skin hair feather or any other durable items which are subject to export permits.
