Why Enjoying A launch Cruise Along Kazinga Channel in Queen Elizabeth National Park Is Awesome.

Queen Elizabeth national park is one of the biggest savannah parks in Uganda with many tourism activities one of them being launch cruise along the Kazinga Channel. This channel joins two lakes and these are Lake George and Lake Edward.  Sometimes this activity is referred to as boat cruise and it is indeed a thrilling activity which will become a lifetime experience.  You will get great memories after you have participated in this activity. This channel is 40 kilometer long with natural water connecting Lake Edward to Lake George.  You need to be time conscious if you are to enjoy this activity because, there are two sessions. One is in the morning hours at 9 am while the other is at 2pm. It will therefore depend to you which session you wish to get involved in. In both sessions however, it will take you 2 to 5 hours. This will be enough for you to explore the water while viewing a number of wildlife. You get a chance to picture yourself a number of animals including elephants, hippos basking in the sun, bird species and buffalos. It a common area where you will see cast buffaloes. These are the ones which have been isolated from the buffalo herd.
To enjoy this launch cruise or boat cruise, you will be driven by a captain and you will be escorted along with a number professional guides along with you while on the boat. Feel free to ask any questions you feel like because it is a life time event and you might not get time of getting back to Queen Elizabeth national park. As as many questions as you wish. Answers will be readily availed to you as you so wish. During the launch or boat cruise, the professional guide will point out any wildlife species which you may have failed to identify by names. As the name of the animal. The guide will confidently and peaceful tell you the name of that species.
Additionally, you can talk about Queen Elizabeth national park without talking about this activity (launch or boat cruise). It the highlights of your queen Elizabeth tour and Uganda safari in general you can imagine. Feel free to take pictures. You will take pictures at ease since the boat moves slowly at ease. The animals which is a must see are the African hippos since the it has been found out that this channel supports the  biggest number of hippos  in Africa as a whole. To you as a tourists, you need to know that an adult hippo weighs more as compared to a fully loaded land cruiser and they do not swim. Instead of swimming, they just bounce their bodies at the bottom of the water.  These mammals stay under the water just as you will see in the kazinga Channel. This is intended to safe guard their sensitive skin. When it comes to the night, these hippos transfer to the land to engage in grazing. You cannot afford to miss taking the photographs of crocodiles. These are so many around the channel. Following the years which passed, these these crocodiles were removed from this lake. This was following a volcanic eruption which happened in the years of recent from the river Semliki.  The afternoon boat cruise however is more interesting as you   will be in position to see a number of elephants  Buffalos,  lions, birds, monkeys and  antelopes with the Uganda Kob  becoming a must see. Though the channel is not recognized  as a wonderful place for bird watching, there are many bird species which will be sighted while  are on the cruise including; the Martial Eagles, African spoonbills, Cormorants, African Skimmers, Pelicans, Papyrus Gonolek, in addition to the occasional hard to pin down Shoebill Stork.
In conclusion therefore, the boat or launch cruise in Queen Elizabeth national park is something you cannot miss during your African safari. As you are making reservations, indicate this activity on your safari activity.
